You can go to the more seriously equipped areas of Arrecifes to do heavy tourism in Tayrona... ORyou can go on a day trip from Santa Marta's Rodadero area. Your choice. Either way, as long as you avoid taxi cabs, you are good.Quick Tips: Eat in Tayrona. The fish is fresh if fished locally. Why eat anything else at the beach?Best Way To Get Around: Getting to Tayrona’s Playa CristalTayrona is a national park. It requires an entry fee. A paltry 7,000 pesos… IF you are Colombian. Eating and Sleeping in Playa CristalSo… you decided to leave an order to come eat fried fish, coconut rice, and patacones (tostones to those of us that aren’t colombianos). Good choice! A Large Red Snapper will easily feed two for about 15-18,000 COP including soda. Considering that this fish is this morning’s catch, and you order within a couple of hours, the price is excellent for the quality. Going in the “low” season will get you lower prices as well… although by the looks of it, low season can get pretty busy. Other fish choices depend on the catch, and you technically get to pick your meal, so ask to see what they got. Usually at this beach this includes Red Snapper, Mojarra, Barracuda, ...Read More
