A September 2006 trip

Quote: Yes, I live in this arctic tundra of a state, and I can tell you all about it. In the summer it really gets quite nice, although the humidity can reach unbearable limits. There is a lot of culture and art here, though.
Attraction | "Mall of America - Bloomington"
The rides are mainly based for the children, but there is the historical Paul Bunyan Log Chute (the flume) or one of the two roller coasters. The amusement area also has a small area to play fair games, or waste your money losing.
All outside rings around the mall consists of four floors, with a large department store in each of the four corners: Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom's, and Sears. There are four levels to the mall. On the top level you will find a large food court, a dinosaur museum (suited to the younger children), and a very large AMC movie theatre. There are your typical shops at the mall—Pacific Sunwear, Victor's Secret, Abercrombie, and Barnes & Noble—along with your not so typical stores—Everything but Water, The Wedding Chapel, and other specialty shops. There is also a handful of child-friendly restaurants (and not-so-child-friendly, like Hooters), along with a NASCAR simulation and medical offices.
The parking here is fairly simple, since hey have two large ramps right next to the mall. On the weekends, when it does get busy, there is a free lot across the street from the mall in case the ramps fill up.

Camping in this area gets chilly as early as late August and doesn't really warm up until mid-June, so plan accordingly. I camped here once over Memorial Weekend, and it snowed! This is a great place to bring the family, though. They have several kid-oriented activities going on throughout the day, and there will not be a lack of friends for your youngsters to play with.
