This was a fun family vacation to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. We enjoyed each other's company as well as exploring the many things to do in and around the area.

Definitely walking along the beach. Fishing off the pier. Listening to local bands. Deep Sea Fishing Trip. Eating at all the great restaurants.

Quick Tips:

Definitely visit the local Chamber of Commerce—we found lots of helpful information as well as many discounts for fun activities.

Best Way To Get Around:

We were able to walk to the beach since we stayed really close. As well as walk to many local restaurants. When we decided to explore other activities we found the car rental being the easiest to get around.
Apartment Complex
This is really an apartment complex where locals live but we were able to rent 2 units there. Very nice pool. Units were nice and had plenty of room even though they were only 1 bedroom units. There did seem to be lots of drama going on at all times at this place. And we did have some unexpected expenses that we weren't told about until we were about to leave.

We visited the restaurant with our two boys and found it was an interesting place to eat. The service was great, and the food was wonderful. Portions are very large. If you go then you must try their Rib Rolls, they were so delicious!!!! We ate there on a Sunday but found out that they have great lunch deal during the week.

The Flamingo
The staff was hilarious—so they really made for a fun trip even though we didn't catch anything. But the ones who were catching the fish had brought their own gear and bait—while everyone else used the boats gear & bait and didn't really catch much. So it must be all about the bait when you go fishing.

Deerfield Beach
The beach was very beautiful. We did find it funny though that you can only play on one side of the beach and on the other it's strictly laying out or swimming. Even the lifeguards call that side the No Fun Beach. We didn't find it overly crowded at anytime while we were there which was really nice. They also have concerts near the beach sometimes. Great place to people watch too.

Iguanas on Intracoastal Waterway
It was really neat to walk along the Intracoastal Waterway and see the big iguanas as well as the many lizard varities all over the place.
