This is an often overlooked treasure tucked into the suburbs of Philadelphia. On my most recent visit I noted that some great improvements had been made to the visitor center. You can now get a quite thorough intro to the Revolutionary War right there. They have some artifacts on display, and a nice viewing room that plays information movies. This is a far cry from what it used to be. Once you have gotten your history on, there is a very large park to discover. Houses from the 1700's that housed officers and George Washington himself, still stand. You can tour Washington's for $3.
