Since opening its sliding-glass, street-curb windows in 2003, Cru bar has been a popular Brisbane haunt. Although maintaining its impressive wine list and glamorous Italian chandelier the clientele has slowly turned from Ken and Barbie cut-outs to Sugar Daddies and Desperate Housewives. Though marketed as a restaurant with high-quality nosh, my experience of the food on offer has left me stuck on the cheese plate and ‘things on bread’, perfect with a glass of champagne and your best girlfriend after a day of shopping.
