One of my favorite of the Windward Islands it's located approximately 21 miles south of Martinique and 90 miles northwest of Barbados. We stayed at the Almond Morgan Bay Resort. It was wonderful. Nicely appointed rooms, attentive staff. Good eats. Plenty of water sports. Read more in my review of the resort. We also rented a couple jet skis (cost extra, not resort affiliated). There were some great excursions to go on once you get settled in. Sailed on the Brig Unicorn pirate ship. It was a sunset cruise down to Castries and back. They tell you that this boat was used in the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie starring Johnny Depp. Wonderful staff, had an excellent time. Oh yeah free rum punch! Also sailed...Read More

They have very nice rooms, although they could use some new furniture. They gave us two ocean/pool view ground floor rooms. It was very convenient. The resort is fairly large, so if you don't like walking ask for a room closer to the beach/pool. The resort itself was excellent. The service was excellent. The grounds immaculate. Average to better than average entertainment. The food was decent resort fare. Not as tasty as some of the other moderately priced resorts we've stayed at. The on-site Columbian Emeralds store was a good place to get some deals on jewelery.

It was a real good time. You get a chance to hang-out with people from the area. If you go with young kids, you will want to go early and leave early. It gets a little crowded around 10pm and goes into the wee hours. There is a lot of good food and cheap locally made handcrafted items. I took my teenage kids and we had a wonderful time.

Friday Night Jump Up
Gros Islet

I've been to a few Caribbean beaches and this one didn't stack up. Brown sand, murky water, and short beach. Not very long or wide. Try Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for one of my favorite beaches in the world. Our first night there my daughter went in the water and was stung by a jellyfish. We logged onto the internet and looked up home remedies. One website recommended pouring beer over it would relieve some pain. We tried this and it didn't help. My daughter heard that urinating on it would help, so she tried this disgusting method and said this actually helped a little. We then called the nurses station and asked if they could help. They said that the doctor on call was already at the res...Read More
