This is a detailed 2-week trip to Orlando, Florida. We stayed in the Disney World Pop Century Resort with Disney Dining. We visited all the Disney theme parks as well as the Universal Studios theme parks.

Overview

This was the first time in six vacations that we stayed at an on-site Disney hotel. It was wonderful. I would highly recommend staying on the Disney property. We also took advantage of the "new" Disney Dining program and loved it as well.

Quick Tips:

We used AAA to get the best package deal we could. They also offer bonus perks that are not available unless you are a member. Those aren't worth it, but the discount we saved by using them for our package was close to

Best Way To Get Around:

We used the Disney transportation the first week we stayed. The second week, we rented a car to get us back and forth to Universal Studios.

We had a wonderful time. It's nice to go and cool down in a restaurant at a theme park. The atmosphere here is why we wanted to try this. Our server was great: he entertained four adults and one child the entire time. The food was also good, nothing spectacular, but good. Two things you do need to try are the fried chicken and the Smores for dessert, as they are really good!

We took our daughter here for her 7th b-day, and she loved it. We went here for dinner and had the first reservation at 5pm. The food was hot and good. My daughter loved the food, and the interaction between her and the characters were great. The characters make an appearance at each table, and if for some reason you get skipped, just make sure to let the waiter know and he will make sure they come by. The food here is nothing that you wouldn't expect to see on a standard buffet. The quality is good, and I would recommend this place, especially for children.

Boma - Flavors of AfricaBest of IgoUgo

There was a lot of hype about this restaurant when we were making our reservations, so we decided to try it. The food was talked up a lot here, and I found it to be a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong: the food is good, but not necessarily any better than any other buffet Disney has to offer. The atmosphere at the Animal Kingdom was definitely worth going there to see, and we wouldn't have seen the hotel if we weren't trying Boma. The zebra domes on the dessert bar were really good, along with the ribs. The kids' bar was also nice.
