Review

descriptive journal about Sewanee, TN and its highlights.

Visit the University of the South; go on nature hikes behind the University Stables; go horseback riding on the University trails.
Summer music conference is wonderful.
Speolology: caving.
Yoga classes are very good.
Experimental films sponsored by the University, cultural programs; on-going lecture and concert series.
Beautiful area lakes and waterfalls.

Quick Tips:

Bring sun screen and bug spray in the summer; bring a camera and books to read. Do your shopping at Wal-Mart down the mountain before coming up to Sewanee. The local stores are very small and very expensive.

Best Way To Get Around:

Driving a car from a distant airport, (Chattanooga, TN; Nashville, TN; or Atlanta, GA). Once in town, travel by car, bicycle, or walk. There's not much point taking a taxi. There's a total of one in the whole town.

Sewanee Summer Music Festival

6 week summer program for teenagers from all over the world to learn music. It attracts world-famous composers, conductors, and teachers. Wonderful concerts for 6 weeks by students and faculty alike.
