This summer, I visited the beautiful Haynes Point campground in Osoyoos, BC, where I have been many times before. Located in the Okanagan, fruit from orchards are plentiful, ripe and affordable. The campground is extremely difficult to get into, but once you're there, the lovely hot spot located on a giant spit in the middle of a warm lake is amazing. If you aren't fond of the heat, do not come here! Still, I advise everyone to come and check it out! Includes 2 flushing toilets and firewood for sale.

Quails

Quails freely roam all around Hayne's Point, and are adorable little critters with bobbles on their heads. Each quail 'couple' has many chicks that follow them in a very cute single file line. No predators to threaten them there, they are all large families.

Boating

Story/Tip

Boating on Lake Osoyoos is lovely. The waves are small or none, they are just caused by the waves of boats. You can launch your boat from the campground and pull up at many sandy white beaches to swim, or just anchor in the middle of the lake and swim. Just remember not to go to far south, or the US border patrol will chase you.

Campsites

Story/Tip

At Haynes Point, there are sites on either side of the spit with waterfront, and some sites down the middle within very easy walking distance to the water. People with small children should make sure they don't wander into the water alone.

There are two flush toilets, two grey water dumps, two taps with water, and no electricity. Firewood is 5 dollars CDN. Boat launch also in the park.
