Washington DC - Gallery Place/Chinatown

International Museum is a must, but you need a day for it; there is so much to see.

Quick Tips:

Check out the WashingtonPost.com for event listings.

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxi is too expensive. Comparatively the METRO isn't so expensive. The Red/Yellow/Green lines of the Metro are nearby.
It's a one of a kind museum, with a lot of information on espionage. The tickets are slight expensive. Of course, they do provide a lot of information and visuals. They don't have a lot of sit-down visuals, rather then standing up and reading displays. Its a lot of information for one day. Keep in mind you'll be standing up a lot, so wear comfortable shoes. I had to take breaks myself and sit on the floor. You'll also be reading a lot, so those who don't like to read---this may not be for you.

Keep in mind that customers aren't allowed to take pictures inside....SO don't bother with that camera, unless you would like to take a before and after.

Verizon Center

Attraction | "Verizon Center (ex MCI Center)"

One of the best places in the area to go view a sporting event. The sound system is great and so is the score board. Maybe its because its all indoors, so the sound doesn't leave the stadium. Even so, it has powerful sound. Even if your seats are bad, you won't feel like you had a crappy night. They have student specials on Wednesday nights during Basketball season. The arena is huge, so you should always be able to get tickets. The Wizards games are a must see; there is more entertainment provided then just the cheerleaders and the game.

Lucky Strike Lanes

Attraction | "Lucky Strike Lanes - Bowling"

This place is a different type of bowling alley. It's a bowling alley with good food, ambiance and a dress code. Lucky Strike is near the Chinatown/Gallery Place metro station but can be difficult to find. It is located in the alley next to Clyde's on Seventh Street, next to Regal Cinema, but it is not visible from the street. Look at the giant neon bowling pin. A waiter/waitress comes to take your order. The food is great and the drinks are okay. The service is a little slow. This place also becomes 21 and up after 9pm.
