KC Masterpiece Barbecue and Grill

Restaurant | "K.C. Masterpiece"

Quote:
A BBQ restaurant featuring, as you might guess, KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce. The menu included any combination of meat dish you might want slathered in BBQ sauce - from ribs to steak to chicken wings and offered typical BBQ restaurant sides of coleslaw, fries, baked potatoes, and rolls.I went with my brother and sister-in-law and ordered the Texas Spare Ribs. I ended up with BBQ sauce everywhere (a messy eater in general, I'm hopeless with ribs!), but it was worth it! We didn't make reservations, but we were eating in the middle of the afternoon; I'd imagine reservations would be recommended at busy times in the evenings and on weekends. The service was fairly quick and the staff were ...Read More

Country Club Plaza

Attraction

Quote:
Built in 1922 as America's first suburban shopping district, the Country Club Plaza features Spanish and Meditarranean architechture complete with towers, stucco walls, and red tile roof in the heart of Kansas City. The 15 block neighborhood also features fantastic murals, sculptures, and fountains.Only Rome has more fountains than Kansas City. The J.C. Nichols Fountain is the most popular and well-known fountain in the area and has four horses that represent the one of four great rivers in the world - the Mississippi, Volga, Rhine and Seine. There is also the Seville Light fountain that is an exact replica of the one found in Seville, Spain.Through the plaza are paintings and scul...Read More

Harrah's North Kansas City

Attraction | "Harrah's North Kansas City Casino and Hotel"

Quote:
Like all casino's, Harrah's has ridiculously awful carpeting. It also has a fairly standard collection of slot machines and games. There were slot machines, video poker, table games like craps and blackjack, poker and keno. It was spread over one floor with several cash-in (I think that's what they're called) points around the walls. While the casino is obviously a draw for those staying at the hotel, there's no problem walking in for the evening.I played craps for the first time with my brother at Harrah's on a Thursday night. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and it seemed like a crazy idea that I could possibly guess what dice were going to be rolled, but I suppose that's...Read More
