Quote: A Capital rich in culture and architecture.
A paradise for the nature lover with many natural attractions within two hours drive.
The name Brasilia was chosen in 1821 by the famous Jose Bonifacio de Andrada e Silva.
He is better compared with the likes of a Thomas Jefferson or George Washington.
As well, the Chapada dos Veadeiros Ecological National Park, very close to the Vila de Sao Jorge.
Other attractions while in Sao Jorge would be the Raizama Falls.
While in Brasilia; be prepared to see many sites such as Itamaraty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Zoological Gardens on Avenida das Nacoes. Palacio Planalto(Presidental Palace) is very futuristic even though still about 40 years old. And the most exciting architecture is Congresso Nacional, a legislative chamber of deputies and senate beside each other. It has the appearance for the viewer as a tower in the center and two cereal bowls on each side. One rightside up, and the other upside down.
