It's almost comparable to schoolies/spring break for adults! Loads of fun, fast cars and more. A lot of the time it's the deciding race in the Indy Championship series and makes for a great event if your an motorsports fan. Other races during the four day event are V8 Supercars and other support races. Accommodation should be booked well in advance particularly if you want somewhere close to the track. On track accommodation can be expensive although with a group it can work out, not too bad considering the extra benefits and being right amongst it. You can fly to either Gold Coast Airport (located 30 minutes from Surfers Paradise by car) or Brisbane Airport (50 minutes from Surfers Paradise by car) and transport from there can either be via taxi, rental, bus or limousine. Pre booking airport transfers is almost a must. Public transport is provided by buses which run on a regular time table throughout the area and a train service runs from Robina to Brisbane. The Gold Coast is popular for its famous nightclubs located on Cavill Avenue and Orchid Avenue in Surfers Paradise where you can party to the early hours.
