Rovinj is the most beautiful city in the Istrian region of Croatia. The center is very nice to visit, there are a lot of shops situated in little marble-covered streets. It is very safe at night as well, when it is even more attractive, with a lot of bars and restaurants. Go to Rio bar in the morning, where all the locals start their days, fishermen, clerks...and be sure to eat at Sidro, the oldest restaurant in town , run for 40 years by the same family. Recreate yourself at Punta Corrente park of nature, and go diving, nice sites for beginners, and advanced divers as well.

Sidro

Restaurant

I had very good dishes of both meat and fish and also a variety of traditional dishes. It offered nice local wines, very good service, and a well mannered and friendly staff. Let the waiters suggest things for you. The restaurant is on the shore, with a view over the city's main church, St. Eufemia.

Zanzibar

Activity

Nice colonial-style cocktail bar, very nice atmosphere, cozy seats, possible to dance, Latino music. Open until 1am, with a nice big terrace with a view of the port.

Monvi

Activity

It's the most popular night place in Rovinj, and it's best to go on weekends. It's a center with different facilities, lot of pubs and two discos. All the nightlife in Rovinj, after cruising the downtown, ends up here. It's open until 6am. For me, the best was Los Amigos Mexican bar. There are also some concerts of live music and a famous DJ.

Punta Corrente

Activity

This is a park of nature situated about 10 minutes from the center of the town. It is a peninsula, a cape, with lawns and forest, and it's all a big beach. It's nice for sport activities and good for going to the beach with small children because it has a lot of shady places and the climate is nice, always few degrees less than in the city. It was a park of a Austrian nobility, and there is also a small museum.
