AlassioMore Photos

Alassio is the true jewel of the Italian Riviera. Half-way between Genoa and San Remo, it is virtually unknown to American tourists.

Alassio
Alassio is only 1.5 Kilometers long and 4 blocks wide but has over 185 hotels ranging from pensioni to 5-stars. With a white sand beach gently lapped by the Mediterranean, Alassio is one of the most romantic places in Italy.

Quick Tips:

Alassio can be reached by train from Genoa (1.5 hrs), Nice (1.5h rs) and by car. The closest airport is Nice, France.

Best Way To Get Around:

While a car would be useful for exploring the surrounding area, parking, especially during high season, is at a premium. Alassio is a walker's paradise.

Hotel

Hotel Savoia
One of the best hotels in Alassio. Located directly on the beach, the hotel has a dining room that serves restaurant quality meals. The rooms are all immaculate and spacious. The price range shown includes 2 meals per day! While the hotel is officially listed as a 3-star, it rates 4 stars in my book. Parking is available nearby.
