Cafe Brazil Deep Ellum Best of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Cafe Brazil in Deep Ellum"

After our long night at the concert, my husband and I were due for some late night coffee, we knew that Starbucks was not an option since it was past midnight, so with luck there was a place that was open in Deep Ellum that late. When we pulled in to park we had no idea what awaited us inside. As soon as we stepped in t\it smelt so good. The aroma of coffee was so strong I probably could have gotten my fix without drinking any coffee at all. We proceeded to sit down and order. We were given full menus where you could order anything on it. There served breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, appetizers and of course coffee. We were truly amazed that at midnight you could get coffee and food, and not at a fast food drive- thru.

After what seemed like eternity to deiced what to get I got a piece of chocolate cake and we both ordered there endless cup of coffee. The cost of the coffee was $2.59, which I know seems like a lot but they had 10 different flavors of the day and you could drink all of them as much as you wanted. I think it was worth it. The coffee flavors they had available that night were carmel latte, cinnamon gingerbread, mixed berry, and a few others. The coffee was actually pretty good and I was quite impressed with all the options.

To say the least we were very pleased that we could eat and have coffee till 1 a.m. This place is open 24 hours on the weekend. I only wish I could find late night food and coffee that good more often. It was defiantly the best way to end an already great night.

Restaurant | "Concert in Deep Ellum"

Well this is not going to be a restaurant review it is more of an experience, but since it took place at a restaurant I thought I would put it here. This past weekend my husband and I went to a Big House Concert at the All Good Cafe. I will first begin by telling you that this restaurant is a small quaint little place. It is located on Elm Street in Deep Ellum. If you don't know Deep Ellum than you should know that is mostly consists of clubs, and bars, with a few restaurant and tattoo places. I think most people would like the atmosphere of this place. It was very laid back and casual. The staff was very friendly and quite helpful considering there places was packed out and it was hard to get from table to table. They seemed to help people quite a bit and every one looked like they were having a great time.

Now as for us, we came to watch the concert, not really eat or drink for that matter, we got there a bit late so there was not really any tables to sit at. So we choose to go to the front and stand (for 3 hours I might add) We were able to be there the whole night and have a great view and an enjoyable time.

I had never been to Deep Ellum before but this seemed like a great place to have a small concert, it was not too crowded and a very comfortable and welcoming environment.

Magic Time MachineBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Magic Time Machine (The)"

Classroom
Magic Time Machine is a fun, unique, and different way to dine. If you want a meal with lots of entertainment and fun you should definitely check it out. Magic Time Machine is a restaurant that is filled with character and characters from wall to wall and top to bottom. The whole restaurant is decorated in different themes and places. There is a school bus and a classroom, a dunce hat, a holiday room, an eater room, a hut, and many other themes. This is one of the things that makes the places fun. Along with the unique decorations and places, the servers are dressed up as characters and they act just like them the whole time you are eating. They all walk around and talk to you and act silly. When we went we had Ace Ventura Pet Detective. He threw napkins at us and started a sugar packet fight with the table next to us. It was pretty fun. The characters will do all kinds of crazy and funny stunts to keep you entertained.

The food at Magic Time Machine is not nearly as good as the entertainment but it is good. Don’t be disappointed because you definitely pay more for the entertainment than you do for the food. Most of the meals are around $12 to $15 and are a generous portion. All the meals come with a trip to the salad car, which is also a big highlight of the experience. The salad car is an old fashion type car that is called and described by your server to fit their personality. For example: Batman it’s the bat mobile, Cinderella it’s the pumpkin carriage. Whatever character your server is they make the cart fit and tell you what all is in their car (the salad fixings). It is really impressive and neat to hear all the different characters describe it. One of the hit items on the menu and one of the things I ordered is their smoking drink, it is served in a variety of colors and is server foaming and smoking. It is pretty cool.

The Magic Time Machine is definitely a place for kids, it has a relaxed and laid back atmosphere and you can almost let the kids run around like animals. They provide the kids with autograph books so they can get autographs from their characters and they encourage you to look around and explore the restaurant. The great part about that is that everyone who goes there knows this and has no problems with onlookers. One thing I will remind you of though is not to ask where the bathroom is. You will get taken through the whole restaurant, with everyone knowing you need to go. This is also a place for the adults, upstairs is an arcade and a bar.

Magic Time Machine’s hours are: M-Th 4:29 - 10:01 F 4:29- 10:31 and Sat and Sun only 10:59am – 10:31pm
