School cafeterias are not exactly appealing for grownups, but this one is aimed at teachers, researchers, and administrative personnel, so the food is much better but also the prices are higher than on the rest of the cafeterias in campus. Azul y Oro is named after the colors of the University blue and gold, but the gold also reflects the quality of the restaurant as it is run by chef Ricardo Muñoz Zurita. You have the option to order your food right away at the cashier and prepay (like in a fast food chain) or sit at your table and look at the menu in a traditional way, whatever is more convenient for you as you may have limited time or want to enjoy a chat with your colleagues. Lava rocks and the local vegetation, that is what you will find at this place, you may feel like you are in the middle of a great amphitheater or in the center of Stonehenge, the sensation is weird and relaxing at the same time. The structures are placed like the points in a compass, there are four gaps for the proper cardinal points, and nothing else, so you can interpret the place as you want, there are no explanatory plaques, no guides, and you are free to roam the place since 8:00 in the morning until they close at 5:00pm.
