A journal outlining some places I saw and visited during my trip.

Las Vegas is the city of fun. Obviously the best thing here to do here is GAMBLE!! But there's much more too. Come here and play, eat, and enjoy. Don't miss the spectacular buffets here!

Quick Tips:

For discounts on almost everything and anything, make sure to check out local coupon books and guidebooks. You can find those just about anywhere, from hotel lobby's to local grocery stores.

Best Way To Get Around:

Everything is really close by here so you really don't need a rental car. Just walk around or hop into a taxi!

This Hotel Looks Like Its Made of Gold!

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino

The Mandalay Bay will probably be the first hotel you will see as you come down Las Vegas Boulevard from the airport. This magnificent building (which looks like pure gold form the outside) shines and glistens from far away. Inside, the hotel is pure luxury. Everything is lush and lavish here. From their extensive casino, to their high end boutiques right inside the hotel, to their comfy beds, this is the the place you want to be staying for a really nice stay in Vegas. This high end hotel has all those things which make a vacation prefect - comfy rooms, excellent service, great shops and eateries, and an awesome location!

The Venetian Hotel

When in Vegas, you can expect everything to be grand and extravagant. There's lots of money, lots of food, lots of people, and lots of fun!

The Venetian is no different. This beautiful (and big) hotel has it all. Whether you are coming to Vegas with the entire family or with friends, everybody in your group will find something to do. There is a huge casino in the hotel lobby. There is also a huge shopping mall, which has many great designer stores inside. There are a ton of places to eat, from little sidewalk cafes to huge buffets. There's even the wax museum inside this hotel! What I found most amazing and sophisticated about this hotel was that the offered gondola rides through the hotel!!

The rooms are fabulous here. You get clean and spacious rooms, with huge and comfortable beds. Room service here is excellent and available at all times to help you in any way.
I would highly recommend this hotel for anybody who is looking for a luxurious place to stay while they are having fun in Vegas!

The pool at the MGM Grand

MGM Grand

When my husband and I visited Las Vegas, we spent 2 nights at the MGM Grand. I must say it was a very grand experience.

Just as you pull up to the hotel, you get this really royal feeling. The big lion outside and the spaciousness of this hotel really give it a very grand look.

Our check-in was fast enough and the girl at the counter was very quick and good at answering our questions. Once we got to our room, we were very pleased to find a clean and spacious room. The room was nicely decorated with old-time Hollywood legends' photos adorning the wall. The room also had a nice view of the city. Each room was also well equipped with a television, safe, hair dryer, and iron.

I also loved the fact that this hotel had so much to offer. Along with a huge casino, they had SO many upscale restaurants, including Emeril and the Wolfgang Puck restaurant. Plus, don't forget to try the great buffet that this hotel has to offer! It's plentiful and really delicious!

Our entire stay was delightful, and we would highly recommend anybody to go enjoy this fun hotel!

MGM Grand Buffet

Restaurant

MGM Grand Dinner Buffet

This buffet was one of the best I had in Las Vegas. The buffet was on the expensive side, but boy do you get a lot of food! The dinner buffet will cost you around $35 per person. This extensive menu is filled with so many items. You can start off with soups and salads, then try some of their pasta, pizzas, make-your-own tacos, have some shrimp or crab legs, meatloaf, and much more. Finish off with a piece of pie, cake, some little pastries, ice-cream, or eclairs for your dessert. They also have an extensive line of fruit for the health conscious.

The food here is all really tasty and of great quality. You won't be getting any processed meats or cheeses here! The service is also great and the waitress will make sure to keep your glass full and also your bread basket full too! The best recommendation I can give you is to make sure to come with a huge appetite! Make sure to try this one when you are visiting Vegas!!

Luxor Pharaoh's Pheast Buffet

When my husband and I went to Vegas, we stayed at the Luxor. So the buffet was a frequent and convenient stop for us when we got hungry. While the buffet was decent, I did try many that were much better in other hotels. The food at this buffet was sometimes bland and other times too salty. They did do a good job of presenting the food, however.

The price range was decent for this buffet, but I definitely think the food quality could have been better. The dessert bar was probably the only exception to that—the chocolate cake was very yum and made up most of my meal!

Doesn't he look so real?

Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum

If you are into celebrities and famous people from the past and the present, this is a great place to visit. You get to see over a hundred stars here. Well, you can see them all you want and they look real enough, but they are made of wax!! It is amazing how real they look and you can easily get fooled. My favorite star here was George Clooney. All you crazy fans can dress up and pretend to get married to him! They have a dress and all for you!

This place is really fun and interactive. They even have a little haunted chamber, where monsters will come out and scare you.

Overall, this is a really fun place and I would definitely recommend it. Make sure to look for coupons that will get you in for half price in all the local magazines. Also, don't forget to bring your camera here because there are many picture-worthy moments!

A view of the pyramid in the morning

Luxor Pyramid

The Pyramid is a beautiful sight to see. Whether or not you are staying here, make sure to make it a point to make a stop here.

The Pyramid is so beautiful. It looks so authentic that you pretty much feel as if you have stepped into Egypt. This place is filled with the works. Besides the beautiful pyramid that lights up during the night, there are so many nice statues, mummies, paintings, and even tombs to see at this hotel. They even have a Egyptian museum and a few 3D rides for hard core fans. Inside, there's a whole hotel with hundreds of rooms, many dining options, and a full service casino.

If you have any interest in Egypt or pyramids, don't miss out on this place during your trip!!

Check out the skyline!

New York New York Casino

What is the New York New York Casino like? Well...it's kind of like New York! You will be amazed how nicely this place is made and how true to life it is. The New York skyline that is imitated by this casino is wonderful and they did an excellent job. To add to its grandeur, they have built in a really fun roller coaster that spins you through all the buildings and inside the casino as well!

Whether you are going in here to play or just to browse, do not miss out on this great casino. As beautiful as it is on the outside, it just gets better on the inside! They have tons of cute little shops and places to eat here. Don't miss this one!

Eiffel Tower Experience

Who needs to fly across the ocean to see the Eiffel tower? Just come on over to Vegas and you can take in the experience while getting a chance to gamble too! Paris Las Vegas boasts a large Eiffel Tower that is very true to life. It is an amazing and beautiful structure.

Inside, there are tons of places to eat, a big gambling area, and great shops. The crepes I had here were wonderful and I seriously felt like I was back in France!

If you're looking to stay at the hotel, the website is a great place to get great deals for stays!

Hairspray

Activity

Hairspray

Hairspray was a really fun show. It is set back in the 1960s and the entire theme is really colorful and fun. The story is basically about a young girl who aspires to be on television but doesn't really fit the "television profile." But with the help of a few really funny and entertaining characters, she is able to get her way, while at the same time relaying a good message about equality to the audience. The entire show is really colorful and entertaining and will keep you interested all throughout. When we went to buy our tickets here, the lady that sold our tickets to us warned us that it was more of an "older people's" show and not really something my husband and I would enjoy. But I completely disagree! This is a great show for everyone—kids included!
