This was our first family vacation. We explored Walt Disney World with my husband, and daughter, in December of 2005. It is the perfect time of the year to visit. The crowds are low, and the temp isn't too hot or cold!

We were at the parks for the opening in the morning to maximize our time.

Quick Tips:

Traveling with a child, it was very nice to go back to our hotel in the afternoon for a rest time. She would swim, sleep, and then we would get her ready for dinner. (Basically clean clothes again.)

Best Way To Get Around:

We took the Disney bus around. It was wonderful, as it looked like driving would be very confusing. No looking for the car in a giant parking lot, no hassles.

We had a wonderful meal here. I started with cheese soup and pretzel bread sticks. It was great. Then I had the fillet and ended with the maple creme brulee. A wonderful meal, great service!

We had a wonderful meal here. It was a real treat, as our tab was well over $150 for the two of us. I started with the cheese sampler, my husband had the shrimp cocktail. I had the New York strip, and my husband had the porterhouse. Both steaks were done to our own perfections. Mine has to be well done. We shared a heavenly dessert sampler. The wine list was extensive, and the servers were very helpful.

We ate here in order to meet Cinderella, the mice and prince charming. But Charming was out Christmas shopping so we had Snow White instead. This is a wonderful buffet. Usually I hate buffets, but the food was fresh, not heat-lamp fried! There was lots of selections, from the salmon to the tomato steamed mussels. I enjoyed the prime rib and the pork tenderloin. Our daughter loved the ice cream, pizza, and macaroni and cheese.

Cinderella's Royal Table

Our meal here didn't go as well as I had wanted or expected it to go. The place was very crowded and we didn't hear our name called to be seated. So after waiting a bit, we went to the front desk to check, then had our name thrown back into the calling basket. The food is served family-style. The salad was wonderful and fresh. The warm rolls were wonderful with the butter. Then, our service went downhill. We kept waiting for drink refills, and waiting. We recieved the meat, it was ham (this was cold), turkey, and beef (also cold). We also had mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, stuffing, and veggies. Our service was so bad that we left before dessert. We had been in there for an hour and a half at this point with no drink refills.

We met Goofy, Pluto (he was so fun!), Minnie, and Chip and Dale. We don't plan on going here again anytime soon. The food was nothing special and a bit bland.

Capt'n Jacks is in downtown Disney by the boat launch. It has a great waterfront location that appears to be floating on the water when looking outside. The food was standard fare, but nothing spectacular. The crab cakes were good as was the spinach artichoke were. The top sirloin was rather bland, and the accompanying veggies were just steamed carrots. Dessert was great—Key Lime Pie. There are some many other great places to eat that we would probably not be back anytime soon. It wasn't bad, just not that good either for $70.

This was a last minute decision for dinner and it was a very good one. This was one of our best meals. We had the fried cheese and the crab cakes. We both had the tasty prime rib!!!!!!! I had mashed potatoes with it, that were so good. Then we ended with the milky way cheese cake and the regular cheese cake. We would love to come back here, the service was great and we loved the atmosphere.

This is an amazing show of human talent. Our daughter stood the whole show. We had level 2 priced seats that were great. A lot of the show takes place up on the trapeze and high wires so it was nice not to have to tilt our heads back all night long. The time flew past and the show didn't feel 2 hours long. There are bike trick riders, trampoline fliers, all sorts of wonderful things. We all recommend this show as something to see once in your life!

This tour takes you behind the boatride at Epcot's Living with the Land. You see how they grow 15 pound lemons, pumkins shaped like Mickey heads, and all sorts of amazing things! The tour lasts for an hour and needs advance registrations.
