We visited Scranton on the weekend of May 20, 2006. They had a special excursion on a steamtrain from Scranton to East Stroudburg in Celebration of Armed Forces Day. On the train ride through the Poconos Mountain the park ranger told the history of the areas we were traveling through.

At Steamtown there is a train museum with movies, information, and trains you can learn about. The Steamtown collection consists of locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, and maintenance-of-way equipment from several historic railroads. They also have different excursions throughout to the year and you can see them repairing the trains.
