There are also World War II sites to explore. A trip to Saipan can be combined with a trip to visit other CNMI islands such as Tinian and Rota. Northwest Airlines has an overnight stopover in Japan on some routes. Consider visiting the US territory of Guam as well.

Managaha Island

Snorkeling on Managaha Island offers many opportunities to see tropical fish up close and personal. It's also a quick hike around the island. Glass bottom boat rides out to Managaha are also available. Managaha is a small island located just off of Saipan. It is accessed by tour boats.

CNMI Museum of History and Culture

This is a small museum, and the only museum on Saipan. It features artifacts from the 1638 Spanish galleon shipwreck of the Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion. It also features the Freycinet Collection. Banzai Cliff

Banzai Cliff offers breathtaking scenery. It is accessible by car. Suicide Cliff should also be visited. Located in the same northern area of the island, Suicide Cliff also provides lovely scenery.

The beauty of the area is offset by its history. Banzai Cliff and Suicide Cliff are places where many died during WWII. Those visiting should read about the history beforehand.
