Sentosa Island
Stepping out of Singapore Internatinal Airport, it was hot and humid.

Some highlights were: The singapore Zoo and the Singapore night safari. We dedicated a whole day to visit both these places. The zoo itself was enjoyable. Personally, I love going to zoos. I think it was mating season when we were there, because it was like every fifth animal was in heat and trying to mate. It was an experiece! It was a humid day when we were there. The toilets at the zoo were pretty cool as well. Quite different. we were able to ride an elephant, take some photos with an orangatang and a snake!

The night zoo was something I've never experieced before. This zoo does not open until it gets dark. There are walking tracks and guided tour through the park with guides that explain each animal that is encounted.

Then there is Sentosa Island. We didnt get a chance to stay and view the show at the fountain, however we did visit the underwater world and dolphin lagoon. Underwater world is quite cool, its an aquarium with marine animals. At dolphin lagoon there was a show with the pink dolphins. Well they're pinkish grey. We even had a chance to take a photo with the dolphins. Going up to the merlion is cool, you get to see the city views.

We were fortunate to visit Singapore during the great sale. In my opinion, it wasnt that great. There were lots of things on sale, however I was expecting the sales to be a bit better. Maybe it was the places we went to?

We also enjoyed visiting marina bay for Singapore's famous chilli crab.

Quick Tips:

The MRT system is great. Use it where possible. It is sometimes quite difficult to catch a cab, especially during the peak times and late at night. If you need to, probably need to get onto a busy road.

Food is great. Try all the different Singapore specialties.

If possible, get accomodation near the MRT, that way you wont need to depend on cabs to get around.

Best Way To Get Around:

Best way to get around is by using the MRT. It's very convenient and also realatively cheap to get around in.

Asia Hotel
The location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to newton circus (apparently has a great food place--however we didn't get a chance to try it out!), and it was also a short walk to orchard road where the shopping and action was.

The hotel itself, we didn't rate highly. We asked for a non-smoking room, however when we arrived the room had a very strong smoke odour. The stench was there and made it unpleasant. the beds were a bit soft compared to the other hotels that we have stayed at. Its not a very modern looking hotel. i think it does needs to be renovated. The halls were (in my opinion) a little smelly--it smelt as though it needed some air fresh air.

There was decent TV stations in the room. The standard Asian networks and various others.

The staff were nice and pleasant. We didn't get breakfast included as part of our stay. We didn't order any room service, so we aren't too sure of what the food is like at this hotel.

Its decent. for the price and location its not a bad place to stay.

Attraction | "Singapore Zoo"

We had a fantastic time at the zoo. We spent half a day here. There are trams that you can take. There are plenty of animals and shows that you can see and touch. My favourite were the elephants. We even had a chance to ride an elephant, which was guided by the trainer on a small track.

We also had a chance to see a few animals mate, such as the rhinos and the lions. It was something different, and something that we weren't expecting to see.

We had a great day at the zoo. This would be great for little kids. they would love the animals that are there.

Attraction | "Singapore Night Safari"

The night safari is pretty much a zoo where people are able to visit after dark. There are plenty of fences and barriers to ensure your safety. There is a tram that you are able to to take and tour guide with narration that lets you know where you are and the origin of the animal that you are seeing.

In the night safari there is a show that people can go to. It's an interesting animal show where there are animals performing tricks etc.
