Engaging Illinois Bed and Breakdast

I went to this beautiful Bed and Breakfast in September of 2004 with my then boyfriend, Patrick. He surprised me with the visit for our 2-year dating anniversary. We were greeted at the door by co-owner John, who was very polite. Since we were the first couple there for the night, we had our choice of rooms. We choose the "Veranda" room, which has in in room bathroom and two twin beds pushed together to make one king-sized bed. The only complaint about that room was that the in-room bathroom was only a stand-up shower and toilet, blocked off by a curtain, with a sink between that and the door. I had not realized that when i choose the room, however, and if I had to choose again, I would have taken one of the other rooms.

They had their own bathrooms also that were just located down the hall. That evening, while we were getting settled in, Patrick proposed to me. (I said yes.) We went to eat at a little retro diner in town, and went to go see a show in Saint Louis, which is only a 30-minute drive. There is a room upstairs to watch television and read books, relax. Downstairs is a sun room where freshly made cookies and beverages were there for us. In the morning, John and Betty served us a delicious breakfast. And when i say they served us, I mean it. They brought us each course, refilled our drinks, and were very gracious and polite while doing so. Overall, I had a very good time and am very glad we stayed there. The house is beautiful, with some many antiques, and looks especially nice when lit up at night. I hope to go back soon.
