Castletown House in Celbridge, County Kildare (Kildre) was the very first thing we wanted to see on this more recent trip to Ireland. That is why we landed in Dublin and made our way back across the country to the West and then flew home from Shannon. The Castletown House was built in 1722 for ‘Speaker’ William Conolly, the speaker of the Irish House of Commons from 1715. We absolutely love the Georgian style of architecture and couldn't wait to see this house which is the most pure Georgian in all of Ireland.
