Information about the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Pasaje Del Terror, Blackpool Tower, and some cheap places to stay and eat.

I was trying to get the tower but it's not so easy in a car!
I've been to Blackpool twice now and the only real reason I visit there is to spend time with my friends and to go on the rollercoasters at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The Pleasure Beach is well worth a visit especially due to the rollercoasters such as the Pepsi Max Big one, Bling, Spin Doctor, and to scare yourself silly in the Pasaje Del Terror.

There are many other rides and attractions and details of these can all be found at http://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com.

The Blackpool Tower is also worth a visit. For £12.95 we got entry to the tower and all attractions inside. It's fun to stand on the glass floor of the tower and even more fun watching people who are afraid of heights cower as someone pushes them onto it. They also had a circus which featured a number of acrobats from Russia, Hungary and China. They were very skillful and well worth watching.

Quick Tips:

If you go in the Pleasure Park, it is best value to buy the wristbands. These let you go on the majority of rides within the park as many times as you like and works out considerably cheaper than buying single ride tickets. The wristbands also let you get a free meal in some of the theme park restaurants (see details when you purchase).

Best Way To Get Around:

There are trams which run all along the sea front and to the main attractions. There are hundreds of taxis which are a reasonable price as well.

Clubbing

Unless you are a hardcore clubbing fan, or are used to the people up north, I probably wouldn't bother going clubbing in Blackpool.

We saw the number of people out on the streets, queuing to get in clubs and bar (especially Club Sanuk) and it really isn't a very nice atmosphere. We decided to not bother clubbing because we thought if it's this bad outside, what the hell is going to be like inside!!?!

I was wise enough to take the photo this year!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The actual park is free to enter, which is excellent if you are with people who don't want to or can't go on the rides. You buy wristbands for a cost of £25-£30 that let you go on as many rides as you want (definitely best value), or you can purchase ride tickets singly.

There are plenty of bars, drinks, and food stalls located around the park as well as toilets and baby changing facilities. The park has a large number of rides and attractions. Information on all of these can be viewed at http://www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com.

My favourite rides were the Pepsi Max and Bling. The Pasaje Del Terror is not a ride but more of an interactive horror experience. I’ve never been so scared in my entire life and do not recommend this for the faint hearted. I came out shaking…not being used to being chased by Freddy Kruger, Jason from Halloween, LeatherFace, and Pinhead to name a few of the nasty horrors waiting inside. The experience uses real actors and a number of very realistic sets…you know it’s not real but is very easy to forget once inside.

The park has a good layout and it is easy to work your way around to ensure you get on all the rides. I have been there in May and October and never had to queue for more than 5 minutes, however I imagine that in the height of the season queuing times could be lengthy for the big rides.
