Skiing in Southern Vermont - Okemo Mountain

A travel journal to Ludlow by mfs

Quote: Okemo Mountain is located in the heart of Southern Vermont Ski Country, and is a quieter, more relaxed alternative to frenetic Killington ski area just 20 minutes away. Great trails, a killer snowmaking system, and light crowds make Okemo a real winner!

Overview

Quote:
Okemo Mountain has great trails (beginner to black diamond) and none of the meat-market mentality of crowded Killington. Even in summer, the mountain has allure, offering hiking and mountain biking.

Quick Tips:

Okemo is located in Ludlow, Vt - this sleepy little town is a great place to come if you want to get away from it all - if you are looking for nightlife and a wild scene, this isn't for you.

Best Way To Get Around:

Unless you have a slope-side condo (with ski on/off access to the mountain!), you will have to have a car. Parking at Okemo is plentiful and free.
