I decided to stay at the Royal Plaza because of it's location to Downtown Disney. I was going to go see a concert at the House of Blues and I wanted a close place to stay. I would have to say it's less than a ½ mile from Downtown Disney. The hotel itself is nicer than I expected. The lobby is very spacious and is adorned with crown molding and modern and classical furniture. The colors remind me of the Caribbean... light creams and blues. Very nice. My room was on the first floor towards the back. The room itself is very nice. It had two queen beds and a small sofa. The walls were a nice soft green...very soothing. The room had floor to ceiling windows. Unfortunately, I didn't have the best view ...Read More

Wolfgang Puck Cafe: Downtown Disney

Restaurant | "Wolfgang Puck's Cafe"

I decided at Wolfgang Puck's cafe just because that is one of the restaurants I haven't been to at Downtown Disney. To be honest, it kind of intimidated me. Big name chef usually means high prices. But I figured I would give it a try. The exterior of the restaurant is semi-modern. That's the best way I can describe it. Multi-colored tiles surround the door and there is an outdoor seating area if you want to eat outside. When you walk in, you see an open air kitchen which is great to watch. There's a large stair case which leads to the dinning room which opens after 6pm. The cafe downstairs has a bar in which you can sit and watch your meal being made. It also has a fresh sushi bar and multi-layer...Read More

House of Blues

Restaurant

I have been to the House of Blues on a few occasions for different concerts. It's a great venue to see someone live. It is a place to allow the concertgoer to get into the groove of the show, and to have a good time. The atmosphere has a rustic feel. The House of Blues in Orlando is two-story building. The ground floor is usually packed, so it's nice to go to the balcony for a less hectic feeling. Both the ground floor and balcony have bars that serve drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), along with food. The bar closes when the main act begins their show. Security is very tight at these shows. There are guards on practically every corner, and they keep the crowd from getting to...Read More

Downtown Disney

Attraction

Quote:
Downtown Disney Marketplace is a mixture for all ages. It holds plenty of shops for kids and adults alike. As you walk down the main area, you will see shops with Disney wears next to a candy shop (with caramel apples being made right in front of you). They also have shops that make their own bath soaps, a cigar shop, and a magic shop. The restaurants there are as varied as the shopping. There are big name chefs (Wolfgang Puck) and family friendly restaurants like the Rain Forest Cafe. There is also a Cuban restaurant and a Garibaldi chocolate store. There are also two main spots to see performances. There is the House of Blues, which holds regular concerts; and there is Cirque Du Soleil, w...Read More

Virgin Megastore

Now, if you want to do some serious music/movie/game shopping, you should come to the Virgin Mega Store. Like the name says, it's a MEGA STORE. This place is two levels of anything and everything you may want in entertainment. On the ground floor, you will find a very well organized selection of music to the left as you walk in. On the right-hand side, you will find DVDs and VHS for purchase. They seem to have a sale going on every time I have come here, which is a great thing. They actually had a CD that I have been looking for for months, for but I paid for it since it was an import. They have their dance/international/classical music separated from the main area. On the second floor (which you...Read More
