Harry's Cafe De Wheels

An April 2006 trip to Sydney by vespertini

Harry's Cafe De Wheels—not as good as it's cracked up to be!

It baffles me that this mediocre establishment is so popular. I really wasn't impressed. I can't see why a little American looking food cart that serves the same sort of rubbish as McDonald's could become so highly regarded. It's funny that, like the giant Coca Cola sign at King's Cross, something so completely American could be considered an 'Australian icon.'My boyfriend ordered the ? This is what it looked like: A soggy, flaky pie base filled with unidentifiable grey mush, topped with synthetic mashed potatoes, which were arranged in such a manner that some disgusting brown gravy could be pooled in the middle. Around this was some sort of green slush which I believe used to be peas. I had a taste. It was as horrible and bland as it looked.
