Youth Hostel Los Amigos, in Flores, Peten in Guatemala near Tikal.In Flores, on Lake Itza, you can stay at a beautiful hostel run by two brothers and their family-like Guatemalan staff. The hostel is about 70 Quetzales a night for two humongous beds in a giant room and in the courtyard, there are hammocks everywhere and good music playing all day long. Once night falls, they have a bonfire and groovy lighting in the common areas and makes for a good place to drink and swap stories with fellow travellers. They also have a restaurant there that serves giant portions of food away from the usual Guatemalan cuisine.
