One of St. Kitts beaches...
St. Kitts is a beautiful island! The weather was perfect every day... 85º and sunny! Supposedly it is like that all year round. We stayed at the Marriott Resort, which includes the Royal Beach Casino. This resort is gorgeous!!! The landscaping and layout were beautiful! The pool was very big and included a swim-up bar, which was very convenient. The rooms were large, well decorated, and very clean! The staff is very friendly and accommodating also. We also took a taxi to Turtle Beach for lunch at a seaside restaurant (great food!). We saw lots of wildlife along the way... monkeys, goats, and even a mongoose!

Quick Tips:

This is an island for people who want to relax and get away from it all. Definitely not for the spring break crowd. No shopping districts or nightclubs. This is a very natural and peaceful island.

Best Way To Get Around:

Taxis are best for getting around.
One of the many pools...
This resort is big and beautiful! From the rooms to the pools, to the landscaping, this resort is breathtaking!

When we arrived, we were given a free cocktail as well as a cold washcloth while waiting to check-in. Our room was not ready when we arrived, so we checked our bags and had a cocktail at the hotel bar. Even though we had to wait 2 hours, the staff was very friendly and helpful during the whole check-in process. There is a main hotel, and several "villas" along the property. These villas hold approximately 20 guest rooms. We stayed in a villa called the "Palmetto House". We had an ocean-front room with a big balcony and 2 chaise lounges. There was a king size bed, complete with crisp white sheets, plush comforter, & tons of pillows!
The room also includes a recliner & footrest, a small table and chair set, refrigerator, safe, and lots of closet and drawer space. The bathroom featured a large jacuzzi bathtub and shower. However, I didn't like that the vanity, sink, and mirror weren't in the bathroom...they were in the main room. The toilet and shower were in one room, but you had to come outside to use the sink and/or the mirror. There was no mirror in the room with the shower.

The grounds of this resort are beautiful and well-manicured! There are palm trees and tropical flowers everywhere. There are 3 pools...a large, main center pool that features a swim-up bar great for cocktails and snacks, and 2 smaller pools to the far right and far left of the resort. These smaller pools are closer to the villas and are perfect for people who want more privacy and quiet relaxation away from the big crowds at the main pool.

The restaurants at this resort range from casual to upscale. There is a Caribbean grill that serves casual meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then there are the more expensive restaurants that are only open for dinner, (tthese include an Italian restaurant, a steakhouse, and a seafood restaurant). Make sure to dress nicely for dinner, as these are dressier restaurants.

The casino is located right inside the main hotel, off of the lobby. It is fairly small, but big enough to accommodate the amount of guests. Almost all of the major table games are offered, as well as numerous slot machines.

There isn't too much too see if you leave the resort. There are no shopping districts or large towns to drive to. Mostly scenic routes to smaller beach areas, and a few local restaurants. My personal advice would be to stay within the resort. It's big enough that you'll have plenty to do.

Restaurant | "Royal Grille (at the Marriott Royal Beach Resort)"

While staying at the Marriott Royal Beach Resort in St. Kitts, my boyfriend and I wanted to get dressed up and go somewhere nice for dinner. We decided to make reservations at the Royal Grille restaurant, which is located right inside the Marriott.

The Royal Grille is an upscale restaurant that serves mainly steaks, lamb chops, chicken, etc. Inside, the restaurant is somewhat small, making for a cozy feel. It is dimly lit with many candles, adding to the ambience. The waiters are also dressed in tuxedos, which is nice. Do not wear jeans or shorts to this restaurant, as you will feel under-dressed and out of place.

For dinner, my boyfriend started out with french onion soup (which he said was phenomenal) and the roasted chicken entree. I had the ahi tuna (which I normally like), but it was overdone and little too dry for my liking. The portions are big! Most people didn't finish their meals. As for the prices...the french onion soup appetizer was $9, the chicken entree was $29, and the ahi tuna entree was $30. There is also a 10% service charge that they add into the bill, so make sure to check your bill so that you don't overpay.
