Mykonos Sun and Fun

Overview

Mykonos is known for its fabulous night life, liberal views, and white sandy beaches. It is exciting just to be there. The evening dinner starts at 9:30 or 10 in the evening and you rarely see people out before 11am. They have very famous nude sun bathing at some of the beautiful beaches. It is not unusual to see a donkey packed delivering to the shops and resturaunts because of the very narrow streets.Quick Tips: If you stay near Mykonos town you will be able to walk most everywhere you want to go. I would suggest staying near the town. There is a very low violent crime but petty theft can be a problem. Best Way To Get Around: You can walk around the town of Mykonos easily. You wil...Read More

Andromeda

Hotel

This was a wonderful place to stay. They call themselves "luxury studio apartments" but they have rooms that are one room as well as small apartments. There is a beautiful pool and a resturaunt on the grounds. The staff was very helpful and language was not a problem. It is located in Mykonos town which is great. You can walk around town and to any place in the town you want to go. Close to restaurants and shops as well as the water front. A friend told me of the place and it was a wonderful recommendation. It is best to contact them by fax.

Andromeda

Restaurant

Quote:
This restaurant is indoor/outdoor as are most of the restaurants in Mykonos. The dinner was really fabulous. I had the lamb and it was the best I ever had. None of the resturaunts get busy until about 10:30 or 11 pm. The wine selection was very good and the service was impressive. The restaurant is located by the pool of the Andromeda and there are gardens surrounding it. They also serve breakfast and lunch. For breakfast don't pass up the fruit and yogurt plate. It is the most incredible yogurt I have ever had. They drizzle it with honey and add lots of beautiful fresh fruit. This is NOT diet food! The yogurt is very rich! Breakfast was very reasonably priced at about $4 US for a very large serving. ...Read More

Chez Maria's Garden

Restaurant | "Chez Marias Garden"

This is a beautiful restaurant with the typical Mykonos indoor/outdoor type of structure. As you might guess by the name it has many Greek plants in a garden type atmosphere. The food is French and Greek and was very well prepared. I had a wonderful Greek salad and calamari which was beautifully prepared. We were there for a friend's birthday and the staff brought out a gorgeous dessert platter with sparklers and sang. It was a wonderful evening and the service was great. You need reservations if you go there past 10:30 but before that they are not very busy.

Nude Beaches

Attraction

Quote:
The nude beaches are very popular among the tourists of Mykonos. When you get off the boat you have to wade to the shore so dress for this. The sand is white and it is just beautiful. You will find men and women at the beginning of the beach and as you walk further down it is mostly men.

Shops of Mykonos

Attraction

Quote:
The town of Mykonos is a maze of very narrow clean streets. The streets are so narrow that only donkeys and motorcycle type cars are able to navigate them. There are many specialty shops that sell greek trinkets and many fine jewelry shops. There are also many art gallaries and shops that sell trinkets and pottery. You can spend hours just roaming the streets and visiting one small shop after another. You can get easily lost in the maze but just keep walking and you will end up somewhere you recognize!
