Los Angeles is a treasure trove of fun, fine, and fabulous dining. Depending on your mood or budget, this journal will provide you with a lengthy list of great options!

The great thing about eating in Los Angeles are your fantastic options. Not only is there a multitude of excellent restaurants and a plethora of cuisines, but you can find them in all corners of this spread-out city.

Quick Tips:

If you plan to be in Los Angeles for a week or so, invest in a Zagat dining guide. It not only provides reviews for the restaurants you might want to try, but it lists addresses and phone numbers. It also categorizes restaurants by cuisine, budget, decor, location, etc.

Best Way To Get Around:

You really do need a car to get around in LA. Public transportation is difficult, and cabs are not easy to find. (You must call and request one.)

Takao Sushi

Restaurant

Feel like Sushi? Takao

Takao has never disappointed me in the dozen dinners I've had here. The sushi is fresh and creative. The atmosphere is small and casual. Although reservations are recommended, unlike most fine restaurants in L.A., you can often call an hour ahead and get a table. Whether you're a brave exotic sashimi eater (like my husband), or a simple spicy tuna roll girl like me, you will walk away from this place very satisfied. With an impressive Zagat rating of 27/30, you will not be disappointed.

Angelini Osteria

Restaurant

Feel Like Italian? Angelini Osteria

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles! The food here is always shockingly delicious. My favorite is the branzino fish, but I've never had a pasta I didn't adore. Having just an appetizer and a pasta could really keep the cost down. It's the meats and fishes that are pricey. They are worth every penny, though. I have not put anything in my mouth here that was disappointing.Reservations are recommended at least a week in advance. This place is small, packed, and very popular. (Zagat rating: 27)
