Treasure Beach is a small fishing village on the SW coast of Jamaica. We rented a house on the beach with a pool. It is the perfect place to read, relax and is very inexpensive.

Treasure Beach
We have rented the same house for 2 years. There is a fabulous cook at the house and she makes wonderful Jamaican foods. The house sleeps 6 comfortably and is a really inexpensive but fabulous get away. There are a couple of resturaunts in Treasure Beach and some day trips you can take to water falls and such.

Quick Tips:

Treasure Beach has a web site and there is an american woman there that will arrange trips and rentals of houses etc. The web site is http://treasurebeach.net I higly recommend this vacation spot.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around is to arrange travel with Rebecca. you can reach her through the web site at http://treasurebeach.net She has a guide service and will arrange pick up at the airport and offers tours. Don't try to drive!

This is a house on the beach with a pool. There is a cook that is included in the price of the house and up to 6 people can stay there. the price is $1200 per week which includes the cook/housekeeper. There is no A/C but you don't need it because of the cool ocean breeze. You can find out about this house and others there at http://treasurebeach.net You may also contact the owner in canada at 416 698-6855 her name is Janet Todd.

Restaurant

Jakes
Jakes is a local bar/resturaunt/hotel in the heart of treasure beach. it is set on the beach. The food is good but not excellent. You definitley go for the atmosphere and the sunset as you can see from the picture. The food served is local fare with dishes such as pumpkin soup, curried goat (watch for the bones!) and seafood dishes.

Rebecca of treasure tours will arrange and take you on the tour. It was really spectacular. Rebecca is a great guide and will stop at local vendors along the way to let you purchase local honey and crafts. She is also very good about explaining and pointing out highlights along the way

Very isolated beaches. There are very few tourists or locals using the beaches. This is primarily a fishing village and therefore the beaches are not used a lot for swimming. The ocean can be somewhat rough at times but usually very safe for swimming.

Treasure Beach
Jamaica Treasure Beach, Jamaica

This is an out of the way fishing village. It is very small and there is not a lot to do except the few nature tours you can take. This is the perfect place to go to rest and relax. It is vey inexpensive to rent a house on the beach. most of the houses come with cooks and staff that prepare the meals and pamper you. If you are looking for an out of the way place to rest and relax and enjoy the sun this is the place for you.
