BREAKFAST: American or continental breakfast at Jardin Marino on the main street.
LUNCH: BAR MELI- In the right hand corner of the football field. The seafood soup( pictured above) is superb.Cheap eats that are good are Sheriff Rustic Soda on the beach and Jardin Marino( the ceviche is one of the best in Costa Rica).
DINNER: CASA PARAISO is the best à la carte'restaurant in Playa Samara .
JARDIN MARINHO- on the main road near the beach, its full of ticos and does the best marlin with garlic fillet in samara.
EL DORADO is Italian owned and serves one of the best pizzas in Costa Rica as well as good seafood.
EL SUENO TROPICAL, outside of town near Playa Carillo, is ´romantic´lit up at night and the food is good, particularly the seafood pasta. Bar Lagarta on the beach in Samara does great BBQ fish, chicken( pollo) and one of the best steak BBQ in Costa Rica.
DRINKS: La Gondola on the main road has pool, table tennis and decent music though its often empty during the week. Las Olas is the beach bar open til late with pool, table football and occasional DJs,( with the inevitable cod reggae popular all over Costa Rica).
