A March 2006 trip to Gdansk by BlueDevil75

Villa Angela is a good base for exploring old Danzig/Gdansk.

Hotel

Villa Angela is a modern, 10-room establishment. The rooms are moderately sized and comfortable, with TV (English channels are BBC and CNN) and modern bathroom (including hairdryer). The breakfast, which is included, is a typical Germanic buffet with cold and hot meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, cereal, etc.

The location is convenient to the Old Town and to the railway station. Walking out the front door of the railway station, and turning to the right, one walks about 3 blocks to a small park where there is a turnaround for buses. Many of the buses from this stop go past the Villa Angela, and it is about five stops up the line, taking about 10 minutes. From this stop, one can directly cross the street, walk one block ahead, and they arrive at the Old Town.

The staff is friendly and very helpful.
