This has the best pizza in Freeport. The chicken dishes are wonderful. The drinks are good and the prices are reasonable. It is very crowded because it is central location, right off the sidewalk in Port Lucaya. It is extremely busy during the spring break weeks.

Shennagins Irish Pub

Restaurant | "Shenanigans"

Quote:
This would be like a sports bar. There are some TVs and a large bar. The cuisine is Irish/Amer flavored. They have great potato soup, Shepard's pie, and burgers. There is beer by the mug or bottle. It's closed on Sundays. It's in the middle of the marketplace, toward the back, but worth searching for.

Ferry House Restaurant

Restaurant | "The Ferry House"

It has a wonderful ambiance and service is great. The manager, Harvey, and hostess, Natasha, treat you like family. They always remember us. Chef Volundur comes out of kitchen to see that his patrons are doing fine. It has small portions but an excellent quality of food. The fish is so fresh, it is amazing. They have the best made-to-order chocolate cake, filled with chocolate and topped with vanilla ice cream, anywhere. Worth $9.50???? Yes, but all other desserts should be much lower in price. Appetizers, soups, salads, drinks, entrees, desserts, and coffee for two was $175.

Our bone-fishing guide, Capt. Perry, suggested we try this place. It is very casual, but the food was good and prices reasonable. Try the burgers or grouper sandwich, or the chicken pot pie, which seems to be a specialty in the Bahamas. It's not like your mother used to make.

China Beach

Restaurant

Portions are of a good size and the food is great, but it's bit pricey. We had appetizers, soup, iced tea, chicken teriyaki dinners, and a vegetable entree to share. The bill with tip was $100. Eliminate extras and just get the entrees and it's not so bad for a family.

Isle of Capri Casino

Attraction | "Casino Gambling"

Quote:
It is very clean, of a nice size, and comfortable. Free drinks are served while playing the games. There is a restaurant on-site, but the menu is limited. Get a casino card and record points while playing, and then casino host may reward you with coupon for the restaurant. You have to ask for this, as they don't offer. I play .02 slots and nickel slots. Some days good, some days bad. In the long run, THEY WIN.

For bone fishing, contact Capt. Perry in McLeanstown, on the east end of the island. We caught 14 fish on a "bad"-weather day! Last November, hubby caught a 30+-pound fish with a lightweight fly tackle. It took an hour and 45 minutes to bring into boat, but Capt. Perry knew exactly what to do. Hubby's picture was published in Saltwater Flyfishing magazine, the January 2006 issue. For reef fishing, for snapper and grouper, etc., contact Capt. Leslie Treco. You can find him at Ocean Reef Yacht Club marina, where he captains a privately owned yacht that is docked there.
