One of the best things to do in Orlando, is to visit Disney World. The kids love the rides, the Disney characters, and the food. It's a fun, but expensive place. Since it is cold in Kansas in March, the next best thing to do is swim in the heated outdoor swimming pools in the Florida sunshine. Most of the timeshares have lots of fun activities for kids, so they are never bored.

Quick Tips:

There's lots to do in the Orlando area, so plan ahead. Check the Internet and read about the exciting possibilities.

Best Way To Get Around:

You really need a car to get around in the Orlando area. Everything is all spread out, and cabs would be pretty expensive.

Best Things Nearby:Highway 192, with all of its shopping and restaurants, was very close to us. We actually weren't all that near to anything else. That is what made it special. It was easy to drive around and to get to and from the timeshare. It was peaceful and very nice. Best Things About the Resort:The very best thing is the staff. The people were the friendliest that we have encountered at any timeshare. They also provide free Internet access and free snacks and drinks at the Internet Cafe. The pizza Bingo night is a free event, too. We plan to return to Oak Plantation again in the future.Resort Experience:Our unit was very nice. The rooms were n...Read More

Catfish Place

The Catfish Place has been in business, at the same location, since 1973. They specialize in feeding the locals. It is almost always full of people, and there is a lot of waiting after church on Sunday mornings. They serve fresh shrimp, oysters, frog legs, alligator steaks, and a lot more local food items. The food is wonderful and the portions are very generous. There are luncheon specials, and 5-7pm early bird specials, too. The people are very friendly and we love to eat there. We first discovered this restaurant in 2003, and wish it had been much sooner.

A day at Disney World Photo, Orlando, Florida

We made our usual visit to Disney World and had a wonderful time enjoying the rides, the Disney Characters, and the food. This time, my husband and I spent $35 each and rented the motorized scooters for the oldies. We have finally admitted that we are at the age where we just can't keep going all day long. This worked out very well for both of us. Our daughter used our tickets to get fast track tickets, so that we wouldn't have to stand in long lines, so we still were able to go on some of the mild rides, but didn't have to get worn out in the process. Our grandchildren had a wonderful day and wore themselves out by the end. Everyone slept well that night!!

We drove to Lake Wales, FL again this year to visit the Florida's Natural Orange Juice Visitor Center. We like to see the orange trees & to be reminded of how their wonderful orange juice is made. It's a nice place to visit. There are videos that cover the care of orange trees by growers, how the juice is packaged, and many other aspects of the factory. Seven different juices were there to be sampled, too. Florida's Natural is our favorite brand and we will probably travel to Lake Wales again next year to visit again.
