Trummelbach Falls

A June 2003 trip to Lauterbrunnen by mountaintopper

Quote: The Trummelbach Falls is one of the natural wonders in the Lauterbrunnen valley. The glacier runoff from the towering peaks of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau all funnels into the Trummelbach. The force of this rushing water has burrowed into the surrounding mountainside.

Quote:
The rushing water from all of the glacier runoff has carved into the mountain like a giant fire hose. Tunnels and stairs take you inside the mountain to see the rushing torrents. Thousands of gallons per minute pour out of the mountainside. Walkways give you great views of it all, but be sure to take you rain gear because you will be getting wet!
