Hotel Phillips is one of the downtown Kansas City, MO, hotels, just a block away from the Kansas City Convention Center. Being a convention-goer, we were able to get this hotel around New Year's for about $90 a night.We were originally only able to get a room with only one bed, but upgraded at the desk since there were four of us. We were very glad we did!Another friend of mine happened to be at the same hotel in the room next to us, but theirs only had one bed. It was incredibly small. While our room was no mansion, it definitely gave us ample room to move around.There is an old-fashioned charm to this hotel, which is to be expected, being that it was built in 1931. Unfortunately for us, our BBQ experience left us disappointed and jaded towards KC BBQ.Gates BBQ was recommended to us by our taxi driver.
