A March 2006 trip

Quote: NYC for the weekend, so much to do, not enough time.

Everything seemed fine, and there were no complaints at all until later that night. After a night out in the city, we came back to our room to pass out and have a good night's rest for the next day. This was interrupted when at 1:30am, the glass from the large picture frame above our heads came crashing down on our heads while we were fast asleep. We're still not sure what happened. Possibly the loud and rowdy next-door neighbors might've knocked into the wall; it's hard to say. We were covered in glass and bleeding (nothing serious, thank god). After a half an hour waiting for someone to be sent in to fix the problem, we were greeted by a team of five employees who were very friendly and brought us to an upgraded room. We were given entry to the Milford Club, where we could use the Internet for free and have a continental breakfast in the morning. It was all very nice and they were truly sorry.
We were disappointed, though, to find out that we were not even given a discount on our room after all the disturbance during our night's sleep. The employees did treat us very well, so I would not be surprised if we receive a coupon or apology letter from them instead. I have to rate the hotel badly because of this incident, but it is a decent place, and this was just an out-of-the-ordinary occurrence that may never happen to anyone again.
