The Beach in Puerto Rico

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights in August 2005. It was lovely. I had been to Puerto Rico before, but never seen Vieques. The resort had good food and excellent service. The room was very clean; housekeeping gave us new toiletries each night. The shower was nice, it was very roomy. I loved the big bathtub next to the bed! It was nice to have that in the room. The king size bed was very comfortable, with clean sheets every day. We had a great view of the beach from the balcony, and the blinders kept the sun out if you wanted to sleep in late. The air-conditioning had its own remote, and was very easy to use.The hotel was right on the beach—the water was beautiful and it was very private. The pool was really nice as well, with a swim-up bar which was ideal for lunch in the pool! You can charge everything to your room, so you don't have to worry about a soggy wallet.We would definitely go back and stay longer. I would advise anyone to fly directly there though. We took the ferry, and it was sort of a hassle to get back to San Juan with luggage, etc.You can go visit some of the nice restaurants outside of the resort, but have a cab number handy if you plan on dining late at night. You can always go into one of the other smaller hotels and have someone call one for you.This place is great for both couples and families with kids. The bio-luminescent bay tour is a must!!! Ask the concierge and have them book it for you. Remember to wear your bathing suit and insect repellent. You will be going in the water and swimming with the luminescent creatures. It is really amazing!
