Hotel

I have stayed here twice. It was between $99 and $139/night when I stayed. This is cheap compared to other hotels in this city. I received a medium-size room that shared a bathroom with one other room. I did not mind this. The building is old, with staircases that seem like they will not hold up very long. If you just need a place to sleep and shower and do not plan to spend much time in your room, this place is fine. It is close to some gay bars.

I had a full sized bed that was quite comfortable. There are no irons or ironing boards in the room, but I asked the front desk for an iron and had one in no time. The service has been good both times I have gone, but I don't need concierge service or other typical services.

This is definitely a low-budget hotel, so as long as you know this, and are not expecting a luxury hotel and services when you get there, you will not be dissapointed.

I stayed here once. I paid $70/night (including taxes) for a very small private room that shared a bathroom with five or six other rooms. The cleaning staff was rude, but other than that, I enjoyed the stay. It is in a very convenient location and I felt safe here. I would recommend it if you just need a cheap place to sleep and shower.

Nice french bistro. Open 24 hours, so if you are craving a bite to eat after partying for the night, it is a nice place to go. Good breakfast also.

I saw Verdi's "Aida" here. The opera house and lobbies are stunningly beautiful. The opera was amazing, with the text translation immediately in front of every individual. I would love to see some other operas here!
