Ann Arbor and Detroit: A Weekend in Michigan City

A March 2006 trip to Ann Arbor by MoondustWolf

Some good restaurants are Zingerman's, The Blue Nile, and Helenas. The best attractions are IMAX at The Henry Ford, and The Detroit Institute of Arts. We stayed in the Hawtorn Suites.

Zingerman's Deli is known nationally, and with good reason. This small restaurant is almost as much a trademark of Ann Arbor as the U of M Wolverines. They serve sandwiches made with only the freshest ingredients in a busy but friendly setting. One thing must be known: this food is not cheap. A sandwich, which is offered in two sizes and can easily make a meal on its own, can cost almost $12, sometimes more. This is the kind of place that attracts tourists and locals looking for something special. You'll see families, college students, and businessmen all sitting in the cafeteria-like building. No matter the prices, though, Zingerman's is worth it. This is one of Ann Arbor's biggest prides, and no trip to the city is complete without a stop here.
