A February 2006 trip to Bonita Springs by catronma

My mother in-law lives here so we go once a year, we're almost locals.

Our favorite place to go when in town. It has great outdoor seating on a canal. It can get crowded for early dinner in the winter, so go a bit later in the evening.

Attraction

mostly a locals beach. There is paid parking but not much, and shower facilities. It's a nice beach to go to for pictures, or to just hang out. However, there is not a whole lot there to walk to for food, or shopping.

Story/Tip

Bonita Springs is a very easy drive to some great beaches. Fort Myers airport is also only a short drive away, and much less crowded than the other major Florida airports. Fort Myers beach is not too far away, depending on the season, and there are tons of hotels, shopping, and dining there. It has become a bit of a spring break spot so the nightlife is good in season.
