Orlando in February

Overview

Quote:
The Sheraton Vistana Resort was an ideal timeshare location. The 4 days at Universal Studios was really fun, and the shopping is incredible!

Quick Tips:

Buy Universal tickets online in advance and use the Diamond Lan check-in at the Vistana.

Best Way To Get Around:

You need to rent a car! It is very affordable at Thrifty.

Best Things Nearby:Very close to Disney—Downtown Disney is about 2 minutes away. It's also really close to several outlet malls. Universal Studios is a couple of exits up Highway 4 (less than 10 minutes).Best Things About the Resort:The pools are incredible; right out our back door there were three pools right in a row. It's great for all ages. There is a waterfall, two kid’s pools, a water volleyball court, and much more. Also, the kid's parks were great. When you are preparing to go, be sure to visit the SVO Website and fill in the Diamond Lane Check-In. Go to http://www.starwoodvo.com/resorts/guests.jsp?resortID=5 and click on Guest Services. There is a link to the Check...Read More

Universal Studios is a great park—we spent 2 of our 4 days at this park. One great thing is that the height restrictions are pretty low, the kids can go on most rides, indlucing our 2-year-old who loved the Woody Woodpecker roller coaster, Jaws, and Earthquake. The adult rides are good, but those at Islands of Adventure are better. One thing we really appreciated was the decent prices in the parks. Food was excellent—a great variety of really delicious food, and at a really good price. An adult could eat for $7 or $8 and be very full.

Islands of Adventure is probably the best theme park in the world—the rides are all brand new and very leading edge. Spiderman and its 3D excitement is very cool, and my personal favourite is the Hulk Coaster. This park is great for all ages, with things to do for everyone. February is a perfect time of year. I recommend avoiding the park Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, as lineups are heavier. Tuesday and Friday were minimal lineups, with 5-10 minutes maximum for each ride! You can buy a Fast Pass for a varying price per day (eg Spring break prices are higher). This would be worth it on busier days, or if you time is short, but it wasn't needed when we were there with such short lineups.
