The park is filled with wonderful trails for hiking. They range in difficulty and distance. Parking is available at the trail heads. There is a fee (per vehicle) to get in the park. If you visit often, you probably want to get a yearly pass for your car. With this pass, you can go into any State Park in the state. I think it is only $25. We saw deer, and other wildlife, and learnt about forest fires and the vegetation in the area. We walked across the headwaters; it was so much fun! You can learn about the Mississippi river from start to finish, and also about how the current way the headwaters look, was created during the Great Depression by the CCC.
