Casa Del Mar, or as I like to call it Casa Del Mar-velous, is located on the South Coast of the Dominican Republic, at the edge of the calm blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. It is an undiscovered jewel of the Caribbean!
It has a beautiful white sand beach, caressed by the lapping clear blue ocean. Snorkeling takes place right in front of the resort, and is some of the best I have done either in the DR, or Mexico. From the resorts beach, you can walk into the lovely village of Bayahibe.
Once in Bayahibe you can walk through the village to get a real feel of Dominican life. There are some shops and restaurants that serve local specialties. But be warned that Bayahibe is growing by leaps and bounds with construction of new villas, and soon more resorts will be popping up near by. It is changing quickly.
Casa Del Mar is an all inclusive resort that keeps me coming back, time and time again. I was there four times in 2005, and I am going back again in April.
The folks, food, and fun are what make it so special for me. The folks are friendly, and staff is so very guest oriented, always wanting to make sure you are having fun, and are happy. The food is some of the best I have had at an all-inclusive resort. The fun is never ending with all types of activities from stretch class, to water aerobics, horseback rides, tennis, bike rides, snorkeling, paddle boats, all included in the price.
The Spa and Eco Spa are phenomenal. I have a massage everyday in the Jungle when I am there. The services are some of the best I have had anywhere.
Quick Tips:
Tips:
Airport if possible fly into LaRomana the hotel is only 15 - 20 minutes away. If you fly into Punta Cana, the drive is 70 - 90 minutes away. Either way you are going to paradise so enjoy the ride and check out the countryside.
Check out your copy of the Sundial, the newspaper the resort slips under your door at night, it has all the activities for the next day so you can plan your day in paradise.
Spa & Eco Spa, even if you do not get a massage, check out the Spa and EcoSpa, they are worth it to see the lovely flowers, plants, and natural springs.
Treat yourself to a massage on the beach, or in the jungle.
Horseback ride, take the free horseback ride that is offered at Casa Del Mar. It is fun and educational as you ride through Bayahibe and get a real taste of the Dominican life.
Sunsets, take a walk to the pier and watch the sunset, stop by Saona Grill Bar and pick up a cocktail along the way to toast the ending of a lovely day and beginning of a wonderful evening.
Check out the Disco, I still haven't been able to stay up that late! I will try again in April!
Check out the bike tour, it leaves from over near the tennis courts. Another treat I must do in April!
Take a walk into Bayahibe for a taste of Dominican life.
Best Way To Get Around:
The best way to navigate the resort is on foot. Which is the nice thing about the way the resort is laid out. It has a very intimate feeling.
You can walk into Bayahibe.
All other trips I have done have been through my Apple Representative at the hotel, they are Amstar DMC, very reliable.
The guest services, and front desk can also arrange taxi transportation.
