I have visited Bern 4 times. Every time I just stayed in another city but always had to come for a short visit. It has a lovely atmosphere, good tourist center and services, a lovely zoo, and the food is highly recommended.
Quick Tips:
Visit the downtown, the zoo, the quarter with all the embassies, and the parliament. The hole city has a strangely good atmosphere. It's very romantic and nice and reminds me of the Italian way of big cities. It is just one more Swiss diamond to discover!Best Way To Get Around:
Very good bus and tram connections. There are excellent train connections for all the rest of the countries to get to Bern.
