Vancouver is an invigorating city with lots of attractions to see. It is the third-largest city in Canada and the largest city in all of British Columbia. Vancouver is surrounded by water on three sides and is a port of call for many large cruise ships. It is a wonderful place to visit.Downtown Vancouver has many great areas to see. Gastown has lots of neat shops (not all clothing), restaurants, and nightlife. Gastown was declared a historical area in 1971. There are lots of great buildings and plaques around the community, which make it a fantastic place for a leisurely and educational walk. Gastown has a great website, http://www.gastown.org/, with a map and old pictures o...Read More

The Sutton Place Hotel is an upscale AAA Five Diamond rated hotel in downtown Vancouver, BC. When I walked into the hotel I was impressed by the elaborate marble flooring in the entrance and by the European designs within the lobby area. This was my first time staying at this hotel. I really didn’t know what to expect. When we got to our room I calmed down knowing that our stay would be just fine. The room was well-designed and the bathroom was pleasant with a large soaking tub and a separate shower. We did wander down to the pool area but it was a little stuffy feeling so we decided to skip the indoor pool. Otherwise the hotel was very elegant and extremely comfortable. I was ple...Read More

Bellagio Cafe

Restaurant

Quote:
The first time that I visited Vancouver, my boyfriend and I found a fabulous café to eat at, the Bellagio Café. The food selection was great and the atmosphere had me feeling like I was eating at a café in Tuscany. The café had Sarah Brightman music playing in the background, and the desserts at the counter were divine. The Bellagio Café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the summer you have the option to eat outside on the sidewalk area, which overlooks the main street and the Museum. I really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch selection that I had at this café; some of the dinner entrees weren’t my favorite though. They offer a full bar and a large selection of food to choose from. Morton's Steakhouse

Restaurant

Quote:
We felt like having a nice steak dinner one night on our trip and we came upon Morton’s while we were walking around downtown. This Morton’s is located in the Sinclair Centre Shopping Mall in Vancouver. Luckily the restaurant was able to seat us right away even though we didn’t have reservations, but it was early in the evening. The dining room had a sophisticated yet casual feel to it. It was a darker restaurant, with just the right amount of light to be able to see what you were ordering and eating. This was my first time to a Morton’s restaurant and amazingly enough they superseded my expectations of their food. I’m not quite sure why I expected their food to be mediocre but I’m glad that I...Read More

Vistas Revolving Restaurant & Bar

While visiting Vancouver I was able to enjoy a wonderful Sunday brunch at Vistas Revolving Restaurant. This restaurant is located on top of the Renaissance Hotel. This restaurant revolves and provides a 360º view of the Harbor, Stanley Park and of the Mountains in the distance. The brunch included a buffet of seafood, salads, meats, and desserts. This was one of the best Sunday brunches that I have experienced. I felt a little under dressed in jeans at this restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxed yet it was very elegant. The servers here were very friendly and well qualified to work at this upscale restaurant. I would definitely recommend dining here if you enjoy romantic settings and great f...Read More
