Vancouver is an invigorating city with lots of attractions to see. It is the third-largest city in Canada and the largest city in all of British Columbia. Vancouver is surrounded by water on three sides and is a port of call for many large cruise ships. It is a wonderful place to visit.

Downtown Vancouver has many great areas to see. Gastown has lots of neat shops (not all clothing), restaurants, and nightlife. Gastown was declared a historical area in 1971. There are lots of great buildings and plaques around the community, which make it a fantastic place for a leisurely and educational walk. Gastown has a great website, http://www.gastown.org/, with a map and old pictures of buildings, which I found to be very interesting.

Robson Street is largely made up of clothing stores, which include Banana Republic, Gap, and Tommy Hilfiger, just to name a few. It’s a very busy street scattered with younger people. There are a few restaurants down this streetm, and it’s fun to walk through just to see what’s there.

The waterfront has a trail that curves around and allows for easy access to observe the bay. The trail follows the waterfront and leads to several restaurants and hotels. There are a few benches and scenic resting areas along the way to observe the outdoors and the ships that pass by.

Overall, I had fun exploring this city. I love to shop, so there was plenty for me to do in Vancouver. I loved the waterfront scenery and the ability to walk to most destinations in the city. Driving through the city can be a little tiresome, the parking is hard to find, and many places make you pay or parallel park. There are some great destinations right outside of the city: Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge to name a couple, which you should try to see while you’re visiting. The Capilano Suspension Bridge has an admission to get in, but it’s definitely a family-friendly area to visit.

The city of Vancouver has lots to offer inside and out. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable trips that I have taken in quite awhile. I long for the day that I can return and wander through more of the city and the surrounding areas.

The Sutton Place Hotel is an upscale AAA Five Diamond rated hotel in downtown Vancouver, BC. When I walked into the hotel I was impressed by the elaborate marble flooring in the entrance and by the European designs within the lobby area.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I really didn’t know what to expect. When we got to our room I calmed down knowing that our stay would be just fine. The room was well-designed and the bathroom was pleasant with a large soaking tub and a separate shower. We did wander down to the pool area but it was a little stuffy feeling so we decided to skip the indoor pool. Otherwise the hotel was very elegant and extremely comfortable.

I was pleased to find out upon check in, that this hotel offered a chocolate buffet on Saturday nights in one of their restaurants. Of course I had to try the chocolate buffet; you can’t tempt me with chocolate and expect me not to show up. We unfortunately had eaten quite a large dinner before hand and weren’t as hungry as we should have been. At any rate we did try just about everything that they had to offer and we were thoroughly satisfied. They even offered a raspberry sorbet that was so refreshing and invigorating that I swear it enticed all of the taste buds in my mouth at once.

This was a fun hotel to stay at because it was situated right next to Robson Street, which is where most of the clothing stores are located. There were plenty of fun places and restaurants to walk to nearby this hotel. Historic Gastown was close by, along with the water front where the cruise ships dock.

Parking is always a problem in the downtown area. The Sutton Place Hotel has a covered valet parking garage but the only drawback is they charge a per night fee for this service. I guess it is better than trying to find parking on the main street though.

This was one of my most relaxing trips ever, I loved my stay here and I will definitely go back for another Saturday night chocolate buffet and for their pleasant comfortable rooms.

The first time that I visited Vancouver, my boyfriend and I found a fabulous café to eat at, the Bellagio Café. The food selection was great and the atmosphere had me feeling like I was eating at a café in Tuscany.
