Sanibel is best know for its shell hunting. The beach is covered in shells. Instead of sand, it is shells, shells, shells as far as you can see. Sanibel is set off the coast of Ft. Myers and is gorgeous with its blue waters and shell beaches. Sanibel is also well known for fishing. The island is filled with stuff to do and tons to see. Since the island is not very big, it is not hard to make it all the way around it. However, the best thing to see and do at Sanibel is to look for shells. You can dig and dig and dig and still find only shells and no sand.
